Student Records, Privacy Rights, and FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) provides college students certain rights with respect to their educational records, regardless of whether their education is paid for or subsidized by their parents. Students’ FERPA rights are detailed in the Student Handbook. A general resource for parents regarding how FERPA works is available online at the US Department of Education website here.
