On Monday, 5 April 2010, from 5:00 to 10:00pm, SFAI’s graduate students will hold a silent auction in the Courtyard of SFAI’s 800 Chestnut Street campus to benefit the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. The event is open to the public, and all proceeds from it will go to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.
The auction will feature the unique artwork of a range of SFAI students—painters, photographers, sculptors, designers, filmmakers, and other kinds of media artists. SFAI students will be donating their work to the proceedings. In addition to the main auction, there will be a number of musical performances and a menu of hors d’oeuvres.
Clinton Bush Haiti Fund
The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund is a charity organization formed at the bequest of President Barack Obama with the goal of assisting in the Haitian rescue effort. The fund partners with such on-the-ground organizations as Catholic Relief Services, Concern Worldwide US, Haitian NGO Gheskio, International Medical Corps, and Project Medishare to provide immediate relief and long-term assistance in the form of medical care and supplies, mobile clinics, water purification, hygiene kits, education assistance, and recovery supplies for hundreds of thousands of earthquake survivors in Port-au-Prince, Jacmel, Saint Martin, and Martissant.
